How Long Should Your Home Renovation Take?

Judging how long a renovation project will take is somewhat difficult because it will depend upon so many factors. However, there are some estimates that you can use for different areas of the house. However, if you have a complex floor plan or you change your mind halfway through, expect construction to take longer. Here are some estimates for various renovation projects.

A kitchen is a big project that increases the value of your home like no other remodeling you can do. But even after the new floor plan is create, you still have cabinets, countertops, plumbing, fixtures and backsplash. After all that is done, you need to replace the appliances with those that incorporate the latest technology if you want to increase home value as much as possible. The kitchen will take 4-6 months to complete.

A bathroom is a slightly less complex project, but it is also another renovation that increases the value of your home. Bathroom remodels usually include changing the fixtures, upgrading the plumbing and installing luxury showers or tubs as well as storage space. It can take 2-3 months to complete.

If you want to add a room, you’re looking at 1-2 months. Generally, if there are no major structure issues or issues with the foundation,  you can get it done fairly quickly.
